DENTAL CARE

Department of Dental Science

A toothache at midnight has a way of making you promise yourself you’ll finally get that checkup you’ve been putting off for two years. Most people don’t avoid the dentist because the actual treatment is unbearable, they avoid it because of what they’re afraid it might turn into. Dr. Bhavika Sachdeva runs Dental Science at Shri Balaji Aarogyam Hospital in Kurukshetra, and a lot of her job is exactly that: separating what actually needs a drill from what just needs a cleaning and better habits.

WHAT WE OFFER

Scope of Services

Checkups and cleanings

Twice-yearly visits that catch problems while they're still small and cheap to fix.

Fluoride treatments and sealants

Particularly useful for children's teeth and anyone prone to cavities.

Fillings and root canal treatment

Saving a damaged tooth instead of pulling it, wherever that's a realistic option.

Smile-focused cosmetic work

For teeth that are healthy but not something you love looking at.

Braces and bite correction

For children and adults with crowded or misaligned teeth.

Extractions and oral surgery

For teeth, including wisdom teeth, that genuinely can't be saved.

Gum disease treatment

Before it progresses to something that threatens the teeth themselves.

Dentures and tooth replacement

For patients who've already lost one or more teeth.

COMPLETE DENTAL CARE

From a Checkup to a Full Smile Correction

Most people’s dental history is a mix of things they kept up with and things they ignored for years. Both get treated here, whichever stage you’re actually at.

Preventive Dentistry

Oral examinations, cleanings, and fluoride treatments and sealants. Cheaper, faster, and a lot less painful than what happens if a small cavity gets left alone for another year.

Restorative Dentistry

Fillings, root canals, and repair work for teeth that have already been damaged by decay, cracks, or old fillings breaking down. The goal is saving the natural tooth wherever that's still realistic.

Cosmetic Dentistry

For teeth that are healthy but not something you want to smile with in photos, stained, chipped, or uneven. This is chosen by the patient, not medically forced.

Orthodontics

Braces and bite correction for crowded, crooked, or misaligned teeth, in both children and adults who never got it done growing up.

Oral Surgery

Extractions, including wisdom teeth, and other surgical procedures for teeth that can't be saved or need more than restorative treatment.

Periodontics & Prosthodontics

Gum disease treatment on one side, and replacing missing teeth with dentures or similar options on the other. Different problems, both under this department.

OVERVIEW

The Appointment People Put Off the Longest

Dental visits get postponed more than almost any other kind of medical care. Nobody’s rushing to find out a small problem exists. The irony is that the earlier something gets caught here, a cavity, early gum disease, a crack that hasn’t spread yet, the simpler and cheaper the fix usually is. A filling now is a much smaller conversation than a root canal in a year, and a root canal now is a smaller conversation than losing the tooth entirely.

Not every visit is about damage control, though. Plenty of patients come in for something they actually want rather than something they’re avoiding, straightening crooked teeth, fixing a smile they’ve been self-conscious about for years, replacing a tooth that’s been missing since a childhood accident. Dr. Sachdeva treats both kinds of patients under the same roof, walking through what’s actually needed versus what’s optional before any treatment starts.

Catch It Early, Fix It Small

Preventive care built around avoiding the bigger, more expensive problem down the line.

Saving the Natural Tooth First

Restorative treatment tries fillings and root canals before extraction gets considered.

Smile Work by Choice

Cosmetic dentistry for patients who want it, not a treatment pushed on anyone.

Every Age, Every Stage

Children getting their first cleaning, adults finally getting braces, seniors needing dentures, all part of the same department.

Thousands of Families Have Left With A Smile

I'd put off going to a dentist for years, honestly avoiding it more out of anxiety than anything. Dr. Sachdeva did an X-ray and it turned out I just needed a filling, not the root canal I'd been dreading in my head. Quick appointment, and I finally went back for a cleaning too.

Rajni Devi Karnal

My son's wisdom tooth had gotten infected and swollen practically overnight, real pain, couldn't even eat properly. Dr. Sachdeva saw him the same day and did the extraction. Bit sore for a couple of days after, but the swelling went down quickly and he was back to normal eating within the week.

Arvind Kumar Shahabad

I'd been self-conscious about my crooked front teeth since I was a teenager, always avoiding photos. Finally got braces done here as an adult, something I never got around to earlier. Dr. Sachdeva walked me through the whole timeline honestly instead of promising something unrealistic. It's taken a while, but the difference already shows.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

I haven't been to a dentist in years. Where do I even start?

A regular checkup and cleaning. That’s it. It’s not a lecture about what you should have done differently, it’s an honest look at where things actually stand so you know what, if anything, needs attention.

A filling handles decay that hasn’t reached the nerve of the tooth. Once it has, that’s usually root canal territory. An X-ray and examination is what actually tells the difference, not how much it hurts, since some serious problems don’t hurt much at all early on.

Depends on the specific issue. Some problems are addressed early, around age 7 to 10. Others wait until permanent teeth have fully come in. An evaluation settles the timing.

No. Fillings and root canals get tried first wherever the tooth can realistically be saved. Extraction comes up when it genuinely can’t.

Dentures or other prosthodontic options, depending on how many teeth are missing and the condition of the surrounding gums and teeth. This gets worked out based on your specific mouth, not a one-size answer.
